Mt Hood and Parkdale Valley

Sunday, Anne-Marie and I drove out to Odell to drop off some tools at our storage unit, then we drove on up to Parkdale, the sun was out.  Our first view of the mountain as we crested the hill at Hanel’s. Mill was breathtaking as usual.  We have never tired of the views of Mt Hood, and we drove up to the old dude ranch to get a closer look.  When we were in Parkdale, we visited with our old neighbors Carmen & Ruben and Linda and Scott and got caught up on the local news.  We have been away from the valley for three years and our old house looks the same as when we lived there with small kids, toys and bikes in the yard.

We are often asked, “Where is your favorite place and where is the prettiest place that you have visited?”, and we answer that we have a few places that we return to every year, but they aren’t our favorite yet, and we have found many places that are as beautiful as Parkdale Valley, but in a different way.

Every location has positive features, as well as the negative features, and traveling allows us to be north in the summer, and south in the winter to escape the extremes in temperatures.

How long are we going to continue traveling? Depends on our health as we haven’t yet tired of it.
